Trailer Breakdown: X-Men First Class

I'll be honest............the third X-men film, a movie that myself and Diomedes have vowed never to say it's name aloud, is the worst film of all time. I do not say that lightly or without conviction. I mean it. It haunts my dreams. Brett Ratner made one awesome threequel with Red Dragon, and then nearly destroyed super hero movies entirely with the before mentioned X-Men film. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I hoped for a long time they would scrap it and just remake it like they did with Ang Lee's Hulk. It does not appear that will happen, instead Marvel has gone the prequel route. And to help rectify their mistake and trust in Ratner, they hired the man who was initially supposed to conclude the X-Men trilogy, Matthew Vaughn. Vaughn is best known for the surprisingly good Kick-Ass. Wisely the creative team at Marvel decided to go with the back story of Magneto and Professor X before they were Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan. Things we know about the film, it will feature those two mutants as well as Beast, Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Mystique just to name a few. The movie takes place in the sixties and will no doubt weave real politics into the mutant's story. The first trailer was released today, and it did not disappoint. We saw glimpses of Beast and Mystique in action, as well as Magneto and Prof X in action during the Cuban Missile Crisis. James McAvoy is the pre wheel chair bound Prof X and Michael Fassbender is the anarchist young Magneto. We also see Rose Byrne and January Jones, and current academy award nominee Jennifer Lawrence.
